Half of all County-level leaders have received AIDS training

Yesterday, the Ministry of Health announced an important part of
its epidemic control work. By the end of 2006, the Ministry of Health
will have provided AIDS training to at least 50% of County level
and higher officials (in relevant positions), and it will have increased
the number of Methadone Clinics to more than 300.
The Ministry of Health said that this year it will create AIDS
policy propaganda teams, and that by the end of the year train 50%
of relevant County level and higher officials and increase the AIDS
awareness level among rural migrant workers to more than 65%. At
the same time, by the end of 2006, Methadone treatment will be strongly
promoted in areas with a serious drug problem, and the number of
such clinics will be increased to more than 300.
