China’s State Council made a public announcement regarding the
“HIV/AIDS Prevention and Treatment Regulations” signed by the prime
minister Wen Jiabao. The regulations clearly stipulate that no agency
or individual may discriminate against people living with HIV/AIDS
and their families. Marriage, employment, health services and education
for people living with HIV/AIDS are also subject to legal protection.
