From January to November this year, China's Entry-Exit
authority staff discovered a total of 486 HIV carriers. This number
exceeds the total number discovered in all of last year, and represents
a 7% increase over the same period last year.
It is understood that this year the Epidemic Inspection and Quarantine Bureau
is paying close attention to testing HIV/AIDS and other important
infectious diseases, and that it has strengthened management
of the entire HIV antibody testing and confirmation laboratories.
All major ports nationally have been improved with isolation areas
and laboratories, and construction of appropriate facilities for
handling infectious diseases have been basically completed.
